The name CoiCoi represents playfulness, skill and wonder. I combine
Physical Comedy, Acting and Circus Skills to create elegant acts were
I highlight the absurdity of the world. With my juggling I use steady
and unique rhythms to create poetic shapes and humor. I use equilibristics
to channel balance and explore the paradoxes of reality. I grow up as
an athlete, competing professionally in both tennis and racquetball
until the age of nineteen in my home country Colombia. My passion for
physical expression has shaped my last five years of training, beginning
at Universidad Del Norte, where I got involved in physical theater.
This impulse gave me the strength to leave my loved ones and move to
Chicago to be trained as a clown by the Pocket Circus. I moved to San
Francisco to continue my formal training in the circus arts. I received
my diploma in 2009 from The Clown Conservatory at San Francisco Circus
Center, while also working with Circus Pandemonium and training at The
Flying Actor Studio. On and off stage, I teach youth a form of fun and
self-expression through Juggling, Unicycling, Tumbling, Balancing and
Acrobatics, within the context of comedy. Discipline, commitment and
fun are the tools I use and encourage as a performer and teacher.
